A paraphrase of John Donne's sonnet, "Death, Be Not Proud," set as a hymn concertato. Each stanza begins with a challenge to death's power and concludes with the affirmation that Christ will have the final victory. A Soprano descant crowns the final stanza, sung over the assembly's unison singing. Appropriate for funeral, memorial services, and All Saints Sunday.
