This poignant psalm setting expresses our petition to the Lord to have mercy on us, using contemporary harmonies and common thematic development of each verse. The response and verses of Psalm 51 in this setting are appointed in the Lectionary for Ash Wednesday, and for the First Sunday of Lent (Year A).
