Ave María

Accompaniment - ["Keyboard"]

Carlos Zapién’s lyrical setting of this ancient prayer in Spanish is bookended by an obbligato part for violin or other C instrument. The vocal writing is ideally sung by treble voices but can also be effective with a mixed voice treatment. This touching work would also be appropriate as a solo at Marian celebrations, weddings, funerals and quinceañeras.
