The Jesus Prayer

Accompaniment - ["Reduction"]
Solemn and prayerful, this piece offers a brief text set in a chorale-like texture at the beginning and the end. In the middle is a contrapuntal section of the Latin Miserere nobis (Have mercy on us). While this motet is especially suitable for the Lenten season, it was originally inspired by Divine Mercy Sunday.
