Green Passacaglia

Using the centuries-old form of Passacaglia (slow dance with a ground bas of four measures), Broege here creates a delightful, inherently musical setting for young band as only he could create. Green Passacaglia is "green" because the music grows organically from a simple four-measure melody for the alto saxophone to a rich texture for the entire ensemble. This work is destined to become a classic in the young band literature!
