Featuring familiar holiday melodies in minor keys and a suspenseful 5/4 time signature while rhythms are approachable and consistent, multiple key changes will keep your ensemble on the edge of their seats. Using his secret North Pole wi-fi as he closes the gap, Santa stops his prototype sled cold, sending Jack Frost flying into the frigid night. The holiday celebration can finally begin with Santa up on the housetop, and conclude with Merry Christmas wishes to all, and a happy New Year!

“March Britannia” is a stately “pass-in-review” British-style march based on the English folk song, “Soldier, Soldier.” This new flexible instrumentation version of a young band standard relies primarily on two-part harmonization of the theme, supported by underlying chordal and rhythmic accompaniment. With modest ranges and limited technical demand, this piece provides an outstanding opportunity for master teaching. “March Britannia” works great for either concert or contest/festival performance.
